What’s New this Summer

Hello Members,

It is summer again! A time to relax with friends and family, throw a few steaks on the grill and take a dip. Of course, that isn’t to say we should neglect business! Here at Universal Unilink, we are making changes and steering this ship in a new direction. We have new staff members, new suppliers with better than ever pricing, and lots of ideas that are going to make us an even better resource for you.

The biggest change is the retirement of Faye Anderson. We have no doubt she will continue to be a fount of information for us into the future. Taking her place as Operations VP is Faye (yes, strange isn’t it?) McClintock. Faye comes to us with a wealth of management and strategy experience plus innovative ideas to make us a stronger advocate and partner for our members. Member Services Director Gary Hautamaki retired to travel the US in his RV. We are welcoming back an old name, Laura Biggerstaff, to take his place and to work with Mike Kane in sales. Sherryl Stoner will continue as Industrial Laundry and Apparel VP and she will be joined by a new assistant, JoAnna Langdon. Members will also become familiar with Paige Porio, who replaces Kaitlin Hogan as the Administrative Assistant/Member Services.

We also brought on a new marketing person to assist us with keeping you, our members, up to date. Bethany Hacker will be working with Marty Hartman, mainly on our social media channels. I hope you will like, link, and follow us as we get this initiative up and running over the next few months. Marty will continue to work with The Advantage and will also be arranging webinars and other educational events.

Besides people, there are other changes in the wind! This issue will be the last combined issue of The Advantage. Starting with the Fall edition, there will be two versions, one aimed at our distributor members, the other at our laundries. We hope this will better serve you, giving you each more relevant information to use in your respective industries!

2020 will mark the return of our Sales Conference. We have selected the location – Nashville – and we are looking forward to seeing all of our member friends and family in Music City next spring. There will be a fresh look and new ideas involved so plan to join us. We will also use the opportunity to talk with you, our members, about new initiatives and plans, in hopes of getting your input so our services can be even more useful.

Finally, as you will see in The Advantage, we are making sure members know about concepts that can grow business, such as financing options, customization of imagewear, system integration, and more. We are committed to making sure you have access to the best prices on the brands your customers want, the information you need to keep current in your industry, and the business tools you can afford.

Time to get back with family and friends. Enjoy your summer!
